autism books and Who are the best publishers of Autism/Aspergers Syndrome books?

autism books:

Question by bluenosesrule: Who are the best publishers of Autism/Aspergers Syndrome books?
I’m thinking of writing a book about my experiences of Aspergers Syndrom and living with an Autistic family member.

Answer by iWrite
well, are you looking for a publishing company? if so, i would look more along the lines of a company that would publish autobiographies or first-hand stories like yours. you could pick up a copy of “writer’s market,” it has hundreds of listings for publishing companies and what they look for in their books.

as for an agent, well, you’d have to do the same thing. some agents take only certain genres.

you could always self-publish, a friend of mine did on her book about her scoliosis. it is always an option, and sometimes after promoting it or successful selling, a company will pick you up and begin publishing your book through their company. BUT, self-publishing can be very expensive and there’s no guarantee a company would take it in.

hope i helped, best of luck!
