Question by Claire: My baby doesn’t like it when I grab or touch his hands?
My 8 month old son doesn’t like it when I try to clap his hands together or do anything with his hands and arms. Is this normal?

I’ve checked out autism checklists for babies, and this isn’t on there, and he doesn’t show any of the other symptoms listed for autism.

Does anyone else’s baby do this?

Best answer:

Answer by ♥Inked mommy
It’s ok..your baby is just freaked out about being in this new world and discovering himself..my baby doesn’t do that but I’m sure yours will grow out of it….

Question by mybubblesrblue: What are good activities to do with a child with autism?
I work with a kid who is 13 and has autism, he is non verbal but understands what i am saying and listens very well. He loves going to our local library and listening to music on the computer. But we do that so often that i feel bad for not taking him else where. I need to find some local places i could go or cheap activities for us to do that would entertain him. We live in naperville, illinois. thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by MelC
well the great thing about children with autism is they LOVE routine so where your getting bored he is excited each and everyday waiting for those activities to come up. If you changed his routine it could completely throw him out of his routine and he could end up really disliking the choice and be very upset the rest of the day or possibly rest of the week. I recommend you keep him with what he is happy doing or maybe you could show him some pictures of activities and include what he normally does and see what he picks. My guess is it will be what he does everyday.

Question by *~*love always*~*: Autism question…..?
Ok I asked a question earlier about my bf’s 4 year old son. All the sudden over the last few weeks 2-3 he has basically quit talking. When this first started he was mubbling, talking very softly & we noticed he was putting his tongue on the side of his mouth when he would talk. My bf’s ex wife refuses to believe that this is a problem..She claim’s its just a phase but my bf wants to get thier son into the doctor so when he tries to take him she always says that something came up etc

Several people mentioned that it could be autism. Would symptoms just now start showing up? I thought autism was normally noticable by 1 or 2. Or could the symptoms have been there all along & they were not noticing them? I have only been dating him 6 months but when we 1st started dating his son was speaking fine.

He is in speech therapy but he seems to be regressing instead of improving. Where is somewhere I can get a ‘checklist’ of autism symptoms so I can look to see if he shows anymore signs?
Now he won’t talk at all. He hasn’t said a single word other then daddy & sissy in at least the 2 days when I have been with them. I don’t know how much longer it has been going on when he was at his mom’s house

Best answer:

Answer by yr great aunts doggg xox
webmd would work, but you really should get him to the doctor. this was on an episode of scrubs where perry’s friend’s son built a block castle perfectly and with perfect color combinations, which is how he discovered he had autism. even if its nothing, its better to be safe then sorry. i hope everything works out well.
