Question by *lil M*: Autism Statistics
In 1980 one in ever 10,000 were diagnosed, in 2008 one in every 150 were diagnosed. Thats a HUGE jump. Why does everyone think this is? I mean if they dont know what causes Autism then why cant they figure it out if there are so many poeople that have it? Do you think it has something to do with what we eat, drink or breath everyday? I was thinking that maybe they just didnt really know how to diagnose it back then? And now there are so many diffrent kinds of Autism that maybe they are making it easier and easier for everyone to have some form of Autism. What are you thoughts on this? Anyone have any Autistic people in their family? More then one? Thanks.
Also if the number of people keep getting high and high like they did from 1980-now then does that mean in another 30 years we will all be diagnosed with some form of autism?

a lot is that you didn’t know how to diagnose—it was more limited to kids who were more stereotypical–others would get a different diagnosis-speech disabled, cogntivie impaired, neuro impaired, etc…
it is probably also increasing–I wouldn’t be surprised if it is due to the toxins in the environment–even some food dyes can be toxic
